Speak any language. Be heard in theirs.

Gaavala is a Chrome extension that adds live translated captions and an AI speaking voice (Speak Mode) to meetings running in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and Cisco Webex. One click to start, 60 languages, audio never touches Gaavala's servers.

In a real meeting

Captions live where the meeting lives: a floating glass overlay renders translated captions directly over the call — age-fade stream, 8 consistent speaker colors, adjustable font size, opacity, and line count. You never look away from the people talking.

Understand

A bilingual transcript keeps the original and its translation together — timestamps, language badges, both sides of every sentence. Speakers are detected automatically and color-coded; rename "Speaker 2" to a real name mid-meeting and captions, overlay, and exports update instantly. Gaavala detects each speaker's language on the fly — you only choose the language you want to read. Export as TXT, SRT, or JSON, translations included, with a live preview.

Speak

Talk back in a voice they understand. Hold the Push-to-Talk button with a live VU ring, or use Timed Speak — a fixed 60-second hands-free window with a visible countdown. Your translated voice is grafted into the meeting's own audio sender (no virtual microphone driver), your real mic auto-mutes while it plays so participants never hear both voices, and the platform's mute button always wins. You speak as one of 28 Soniox studio voices — every voice covers all 60 languages — or as a clone of your own voice from a 20-second sample, the Pro default.

On-device AI summary

Chrome's built-in AI model (Gemini Nano) turns the transcript into structured Key Points, Action Items with the responsible speaker named, and Decisions — on your hardware, with zero network calls. Output languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, German, French. Copy it or download as Markdown.

Privacy, with receipts

Every claim maps to a line of the product's code. Audio goes browser → Soniox over an encrypted WebSocket to EU endpoints — Gaavala's servers are never in the audio path. Sessions run on single-purpose temporary keys that expire after 60 seconds; the master key never leaves the server. AI summaries make zero network calls. Transcripts live in memory only — no database writes, no server persistence. The extension requests 9 permissions scoped to the four meeting platforms and three API hosts — no all-URLs access, zero analytics SDKs.

Platforms and reliability

Official Speak Mode support and live captions on Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, and Zoom. One-click capture with no screen-share dialog. Close the panel and capture tears down completely — watchdogs make sure nothing keeps listening in the background.

Honest pricing

$24.99 a month for Pro, 120 minutes of live captioning per day — no "unlimited" anywhere. Start with a one-time free trial of 5 minutes, no credit card, never resets.
