Refund Policy

How cancellation works, when refunds apply, and how to ask for one.

This Refund Policy explains how cancellation and refunds work for Gaavala Pro subscriptions. It is part of our Terms of Service and collects the policy described there in one place.

1. Billing, in short

Gaavala Pro is a monthly subscription of $19.99 USD per month, billed in advance. All payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record — Paddle handles checkout, payment processing, invoicing, and tax collection on our behalf. Purchases are additionally subject to Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms.

2. Try before you pay

The Free tier exists so you can evaluate Gaavala before paying: a one-time 5-minute trial of live captioning and translation, with no credit card required. We encourage you to use it to confirm the Service works for your meetings before subscribing.

3. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time:

Cancellation stops future charges. Your Pro access remains active until the end of the already-paid billing period, and no further payments are taken. We do not offer partial-month (pro-rata) refunds for the unused remainder of a billing period after cancellation.

4. Requesting a refund

Refund requests are reviewed case by case. Contact legal@gaavala.com within 14 days of the charge, from the email address on your Gaavala account, and include:

We aim to respond within 5 business days. Typical situations where we issue a refund include duplicate charges, charges taken after a cancellation you made before the renewal date, and technical problems on our side that prevented you from using the Service and that we could not resolve.

5. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method. Once a refund is issued, the time it takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider — typically 5–10 business days.

6. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence — including, where applicable, statutory withdrawal or cancellation rights for consumers in the EU, the UK, and Turkey. Where such law grants you a broader right than this policy, the law prevails.
